FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey will finish their 2022 slate of games on the road in Colchester, Vermont, where they'll have conference weekend matchups with Saint Michael's College.

In their only game last week, the Pioneers travelled to East Meadow, NY, to visit the Sharks of LIU where they fell 2-0 where Carly Greene stopped 32 of 33 shots before LIU sealed the game with a late third period empty net goal.

The Pioneers are riding a 12 game winning streak against the Purple Knights dating back to January of 2019, with their last matchup in February of 2022 resulting in a 5-0 route where SHU scored three third period goals.

Greene goes into the weekend's contest fifth overall in NEWHA for saves on the season with 354. Delani MacKay and Paige McNeil are tied sixth in the conference for total points with 13. Mackay also ranks fourth in the conference with nine goals, with five coming off power plays which puts her atop NEWHA skaters. Kelly Solak leads the blue liners for the Pioneers with eight assists to rank fifth in the conference, trailing only four skaters from St. Anselm.

After this weekend's games, the Pioneers will take a hiatus for the winter break before resuming play Tuesday, Jan. 3 where they will be back in Colchester to start the second half of the season with Saint Michael's. SHU will have two road games later that weekend in North Easton, Mass. at Stonehill College before baptizing Martire Family Arena on Jan. 15 against Harvard.
