
Lawton Captures NEC Pitcher of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. –Sacred Heart University softball graduate student Sarah Lawton captured her first Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Week recognition after throwing her first career no-hitter against Bryant in Friday's 2-0 shutout victory.
Lawton pitched a flawless seven-inning game that included nine strikeouts in her first of two appearances in the three-game series. During the two games she pitched, she tallied just a 0.50 ERA and struck out 16 batters while walking two. She currently leads the team with a 5.40 ERA and has struck out 56 batters in 13 games.
Sacred Heart returns to action on Tuesday afternoon when they host Saint Peter's at 3:00 p.m.
