Equestrian Captures IHSA Regional Championship

SHU now has eight regional championships under its belt

SIMSBURY, Conn.- Champs. The Sacred Heart University equestrian team captured their eighth Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Regional Championship on Sunday after being named High Point Team at Trinity College.

Of Note:

Alyssa Kinney qualified for the IHSA Individual Regional Championships in Open Fences as she placed first in the event on Sunday.
Alexa Setteducati also claimed a spot at the Regional Championships in Limit Flat with her second place finish on Sunday.
Ashley Bocek was the third Pioneer to qualify for regionals on Sunday as she placed second in Novice Flat earning her a spot in the championships.
Macayla Sousa was named Reserve High Point Rider of the day as she placed second in Intermediate Flat and first in Limit Fences Section A.
