Sacred Heart notched its first run in the first off George Sutherland's sacrifice fly to left field to allow Robert Farruggio to cross the plate. Three frames later, Joe Emerson scored on a wild pitch to knot the game at two apiece.

Wagner took the 2-1 lead with one run in the first and third innings. The Seahawks regained the lead off a home run to left field in fourth and added three insurance runs across the sixth and eighth innings.

Ryan Donnelly hit three of four and reached first on his opening hit off an error but was stranded. The senior transfer made it on base at every at bat, along with Joe Emerson who went 1 for 3 with a run and two walks.

The home team committed three errors and the Pioneers were able to capitalize on two.
