Of Note:
Princeton used an 8-1 run during the middle of the first set to take a 19-9 advantage on its way to winning the opening stanza. A block by Patrick Mucherino and Ife Loverton pulled SHU within 11-9 in the second set, but the Tigers would inch away and close with a 5-1 stretch.
The momentum swung back and forth in set three. The Pioneers staved off five match points before taking a 29-28 lead thanks to a Mucherino kill and Princeton error. Unfortunately, the Tigers would win three-straight points to win the match.
Sacred Heart hit .353 in the third set, but couldn't slow down the Tigers as they hit .425 for the match. Princeton also had an 8-2 advantage in blocks.
Mucherino led all players with a match-high 13 kills. In his final collegiate match, senior Aaron Peterson had eight kills with a .500 hitting percentage.
The Pioneers bring most of their starters back for the 2023 campaign, but will have to replace Peterson and Loverton in the middle.
