Ciszek notches first triple-double of the season.
COLUMBIA, S.C. – A strong finish to the fourth set propelled the Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team to its first victory of the season on Friday. The Pioneers came back to beat Winthrop, 3-2 (17-25, 25-15, 18-25, 25-19, 15-4), in the Carolina Classic, hosted by South Carolina.

An attack error by the Eagles gave SHU a 5-3 lead in the fifth set. Junior Hunter Riedl rattled off five-straight points with her serve to stake the Pioneers to a 10-3 lead they would not relinquish.
Sacred Heart bounced back from a tough start to take the second set. The Pioneers hit .375 with Camryn Luginbuhl producing five kills and Jasmine Rogers adding four more.
Winthrop turned the tables in third set, hitting .366, but the Pioneers responded again in set four. Helping the offense was setter Sarah Ciszek as she recorded six kills to help force the fifth set.
The Pioneers hit .556 in the fifth set, while limiting the Eagles to a -.417 rate, as part of a .208-to-.122 advantage.
Posting her first triple double of the season Ciszek as she recorded 36 assists, 11 digs and 10 kills. Last year she ranked third in the NCAA with five. Topping the team was Luginbuhl as she posted a 13-kill, 11-dig double-double.
