
Ciszek and Jeffrey Tabbed for NEC Volleyball Awards

SOMERSET, N.J. – Another successful weekend for the Sacred Heart University women's volleyball translated into more weekly awards. Setter Sarah Ciszek earned Northeast Conference/Molten Player of the Week while Brooke Jeffrey garnered Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
A native of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Ciszek has earned all four Player of the Week awards this season and upped her career total to 18. Jeffrey, who hails from Austin, Texas, collected her first honor. Ciszek shares the honor with Saint Francis' Madi Tyus while Anastasia Scott of LIU picked up Defensive Player of the Week.
Named to the Yale Invitational All-Tournament Team, Ciszek averaged 8.67 assists, 2.33 digs, 1.78 kills and 0.56 blocks in Sacred Heart's 2-1 week. The graduate student notched a pair of 30-plus assist matches in victories against Fordham and Villanova and posted a double-double against the Rams after dropping 33 dimes and adding 10 digs. Ciszek continues to lead the league in total kills (100), assists (434), assists per set (8.86) and is third in hitting percentage (.345).
Jeffrey was also named to the Yale Invitational All-Tournament Team after putting up 2.44 kills, 0.78 digs and 0.33 blocks over nine sets. Taking over the opposite role, she averaged a .347 hitting percentage, including a .381 clip in the Pios' three-set victory against Villanova.
