SHU Earns High Point Team In IHSA Doubleheader

Radi earns High Point Rider while Marsh qualifies for regional's

NORWALK, Conn. — The Sacred Heart equestrian team showed well in its season-opener Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) doubleheader, earning High Point Team honors in both competitions and taking the High Point Rider in the second competition.

In the first competition, the Pios clinched a close contest as senior Paige Sutton earned Reserve High Point Rider while senior Abigail Marsh became the first rider to qualify for regionals in the spring. The Red & White earned first-place honors in eight classes during the morning show.

In the afternoon, junior Lauren Radi claimed High Point Rider honors after a ride-off in flats. The Pios took home first place in seven classes en route to a 40-point showing and a first-place finish over their in-state rivals UCONN, Fairfield and Trinity.
