The Pioneers rode this momentum into a hot start in the third, going ahead 7-3 early on. However, the Blue Devils continued to battle, cutting the lead to one, 10-9, 19 points in. Sacred Heart held firm, not relinquishing the lead while stringing together a thrilling 7-0 run to go up a commanding 24-14.
