Pryor and Bonner finish in double-figures
NEW BRITAIN, Conn.— The first place Sacred Heart University women's basketball team fell to Central Connecticut State, 79-64, on Saturday.

Sacred Heart was down by one to start the second half. CCSU responded with five unanswered points to grow its lead, 36-30. First year Ny'Ceara Pryor posted back-to-back baskets for the Pioneers to bring the score within four at the 7:41 mark.
Two minutes later, graduate student Sajada Bonner got the rebound off her three-point miss to continue trimming the Blue Devils' lead, 40-36. After Pryor made 1-of-2 from the free-throw line, Bonner drained a three to tie the game at 40 with 3:50 left.
That was as far as SHU could get as CCSU went on a 14-5 run to regain its lead for good. The Blue Devils outscored the Pioneers 23-15 in the third quarter.
SHU made it a one-point game in each of the first two quarters, but struggled to get back in front. Turnovers were an issue for the Pioneers as they committed 26 which turned into 29 Blue Devil points.
CCSU had the advantage from the three-point line with 10-of-15 (66.7%) compared to SHU's 3-of-19 (15.8%).
Pryor registered her 10th 20+ point performance with 21 while leading the Pioneers with a team-leading five assists and five steals. Bonner tallied 15 points and made two of SHU's triples.
