Sacred Heart Hosts Wagner for Regular Season Finale

FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's basketball team wraps up the regular season on Thursday as it welcomes Wagner for its Diversity and Inclusion game. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on NEC Front Row with Randy Brochu and Sam Pierce on the call.
 
OPENING TIP
  • Sacred Heart 20-3 advantage against Wagner when playing at the Pitt Center. The last time both teams met in Fairfield, the Seahawks won 52-38 over the Pioneers.
  • Earlier this season, Sacred Heart took down Wagner for the eighth-straight road game in the series at a score of 65-47. Ny'Ceara Pryor led the way with 25 points.
  • The Pioneers are off to their best conference start since the 2015-16 season with an 11-4 record and look to finish in the top rankings for the seventh time in program history.
  • SHU is second in the NEC in offensive rebounds with 12.7 per game and combined rebounds with 36.4 per game.
  • Pryor became the first player in program and NEC history to be selected to the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watchlist. The first year is a 12-time NEC Rookie of the Week, two-time NEC Player of the Week and five-time Met Basketball Writer's Association Honorable Mention honoree. Pryor is the leader in the nation in steals per game (4.1) and steals overall (110). In addition to being the leader in the conference in scoring (17.9). Pryor has scored 20+ points in 12 games.
  • Sajada Bonner leads the Pioneers and is third in the NEC with 51 three-pointers made. The graduate student notched a career-high six triples against SFBK.
