Pioneers Go 3-2 at AIC 7s Tournament

SHU had three consecutive wins before falling to the hosts
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.—The Sacred Heart women's rugby team was on the road on Sunday at the American International College 7s Tournament. The Pioneers went 3-2 on the day, taking on Northeaster, Army, New Haven, and AIC.
Game One- SHU 0, Northeastern 15
The Pioneers opened the day with a 15-0 setback to Northeastern.
Game Two- SHU 26, Army Gray 5
After falling to Northeastern in the opening game, Sacred Heart had a dominating 26-5 victory over the Army Gray team. Fabiola Millien-Faustin recorded two tries to lead the Pioneers. Jasmin Quinones and Nicole Kimball both added one try each for Sacred Heart.
Kimball was three-of-four on conversions.
Game Three- SHU 29, UNH 0
Coming off a victory over Army, Sacred Heart would go on to shut out the University of New Haven in the third game of the day. Ashley Torres-Brown led the Pioneer with two tries against UNH. Samantha McGann, Caroline Woelfel, and Katie Przybylski all added a try each for Sacred Heart. McGann was two-of-four on conversions, and Makena Wright was zero-of-one.
Game Four- SHU 19, Army Gray 10
Sacred Heart won its third consecutive game of the day with a 19-10 victory over Army Gray, the Pioneers' second victory over Army Gray. Wright led the way for SHU with two tries over Army, and Quinones added a try in the win.
Kimball was two-for-three on conversions in the victory over Army.
Game Five- SHU 5, AIC 17
Sacred Heart wrapped up the AIC 7s Tournament with a 17-5 loss to AIC. The Pioneers finished the day with a 3-2 record.
Kimball and Millien-Faustin both recorded one try each for the Pioneers. Both were also zero-for-one on conversions against AIC.
Up Next: The Pioneers are back in action on Sunday, April 16th, at the LIU 7's Qualifier.
