This season marked the 30th year of the Sacred Heart University women's bowling program. Earlier this month, alums and current members of the team got the chance to celebrate on campus at Pioneer Lanes.

Throughout the years, the Pioneers have become a top-notch program in the Northeast Conference and the nation. Sacred Heart has captured a league-leading six NEC Championship titles and has made nine appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

This season, the Pioneers claimed its third NEC Championship in the last four years, and sixth overall. SHU won in 2010, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022, and most recently, 2023. The Pioneers battled as the fourth seed and had a play-in match to kick off the championship weekend. Sacred Heart had to win four matches throughout the weekend to hoist the trophy for the second straight season.

Sacred Heart Head Coach Becky Kregling has been at the helm since the program's inception in 1993. Kregling has held the program to a high standard and has brought enormous success to SHU bowling.

"It has been an honor to be the coach of this program since its inception 30 years ago. Being part of so many young ladies' lives has meant a lot to me. Having so many return to campus and keep in touch means the world to me," said Kregling.

Over the years, Kregling has led the Pioneers to nine NCAA Tournament appearances (2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2012, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023) since the event's conception in 2004. She also led SHU to 13 USBC National Championship Tournaments, including 10 straight years before the start of the NCAA Tournament. She is a six-time NEC Coach of the Year and two-time Eastern Intercollegiate Bowling Conference Coach of the Year.

Sacred Heart has appeared in every NEC championship tournament and has produced seven All-Americans, along with a National Rookie of the Year.
