SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Fresh off of winning the 2023 Northeast Conference (NEC) Bowling Championship, the Sacred Heart University women's bowling team added to its accolades by taking a National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-Academic Team Award. Individually, 14 Pioneers met the qualifications to be named NTCA All-Academic.

To be eligible for this award, a program must have a cumulative team GPA of a 3.2 or higher for the academic school year and be a current member of the NTCA. SHU blew those expectations away by recording a team GPA of 3.69, the fourth-highest mark out of the 101 NCAA bowling programs. The Pios are no stranger to this honor, winning it four years in a row.

To qualify for this award, the 285 students tabbed NTCA All-Academic had to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher for the academic school year. Of the 14 Pioneers recognized, 10 were also named NTCA All-Academic in 2022.
