Swim and Dive Open Two-Day Dual with CCSU

Olivia McNicholas takes the three-meter board
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The two-day dual meet between in-state rivals Sacred Heart University and Central Connecticut State University kicked off Friday at CCSU. The Blue Devils hold a 137-49 lead after day one.
Olivia McNicholas led the way for the Pioneers securing the three-meter board with a score of 249.83. Lola Barrett finished right behind her teammate with a score of 238.05 to finish second.
Rosemery Nieto placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.40. She also paced the Pioneers in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:15.51 to claim third.
In the 200-yard free relay, the team of Emma Haas, Sophia Velleco, Emma Davis and Emma McCall finished second with a time of 1:41.65. The relay team of Velleco, Nieto, Melanie Sanchez and Haas placed second in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:03.08.

The Pioneers will return to McCann Natatorium for the day two tomorrow, when they will celebrate their senior class at 12:30 p.m.
