Men’s Golf Places Seventh at SHU Fall Classic

Suzuki paced the Pioneers in 16th

MILFORD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's golf team concluded play at the SHU Fall Classic in seventh place after third-round action at the Great River Golf Club in Milford, Conn. 

The Pioneers finished the three-day event with a combined score of 937 (+73). SHU tallied rounds of 310    and 308 yesterday before posting a 319 today. Hofstra and Manhattan tied for the team title at 901 (+37). 

Sho Suzuki led the Pioneers in a tie for 16th place, finishing the event with a score of 229 (+13). The sophomore carded two rounds of 76 before carding a 77 today. 

First year Yu Chan Ji Lim placed second on the team in T23rd with a score of 232 (+16). Ji Lim followed a first-round 82 with back-to-back rounds of 75. 

Alex Turlik and Jack Delaney finished one stroke apart with scores of 236 (+20) and 237 (+21), respectively. Turlik finished in 37th place, while Delaney placed in a tie for 38th. 

Eoin Freeman, Miles Buddenhagan and James Murray round out the Pios' golfers at the event in T45th, 54th and 57th. 

The Pioneers are back in action on Sunday, Oct. 6, for the Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational, hosted by Binghamton at the Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, N.Y.
