HAMPDEN, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University men's golf team finished 15th at the UConn Invitational, as the event wrapped up Tuesday at the GreatHorse Golf Club in Hampden, Mass.
The Pioneers finished the three-day event with a team score of 934 (+70) after rounds of 306, 315 and 313. UConn defended its home turf, winning the team title with a final score of 864 (E) to just beat Boston College at three over.
Mike Rothberg was the highest finishing Pioneer at the event in a tie for 23rd. The senior finished with a score of 221 (+5) following rounds of 72, 75 and 74.
Alex Turlik was next on the leaderboard for SHU in tie for 46th. The senior from Clackmannanshire, Scotland, finished with a score of 228 (+12) after consistent rounds of 75, 77 and 76.
Luciano Moratinos,
Quin Adams and
Leo Dixon rounded out SHU's competitors at the tournament. Moratinos posted a final score of 242 (+26), while Adams sat at 247 (+31) and Dixon posted a 248 (+32).
The Pioneers hit the road again on Monday, Oct. 20, to kick off the Nassau Invitational at the Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, N.Y.
