Adamson Named AHA Defenseman of the Week

AMHERST, Mass. (October 18, 2024) – Junior defenseman Mikey Adamson (Quincy, Mass.) of the Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team has been named Atlantic Hockey America Defenseman of the Week for the week ending on Oct. 20, as announced on Monday afternoon by the league office.

Adamson contributed two goals and an assist to total three points in a 1-1-0 weekend, as the Pioneers split a home-and-home set with No. 15/17 nationally ranked Massachusetts. He was instrumental in Friday night's 4-3, upset road win over his former team, when he provided a second-period assist and then scored the eventual game-winning goal early in the third. On Saturday, Adamson scored SHU's lone goal in a 6-1 defeat. He totaled six shots on goal on the week.

For the season, Adamson has five points on two goals and three assists through the first four games.

SHU (1-2-1) opens Atlantic Hockey play this weekend with a two-game home series against Holy Cross. Puck drop is 7 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday at Martire Family Arena.
