Pioneers Have Pair of Top-10 Performances at the Head of the Schuylkill

SHU had five boats racing on Saturday
PHILADELPHIA, Pa.— The Sacred Heart University women's rowing team had five boats racing in the Head of the Schuylkill on Saturday afternoon.
The first varsity eight earned ninth place out of 22 in the Championship Eight with a time of 13:09, just seven seconds behind the fourth-place finishers.
In the club championship eight category, the second varsity 8 finished ninth out of 48 with a time of 13:35. The third varsity 8 finished 17th with a time of 13:44, and the fourth varsity 8 finished 38th with a time of 14:30.
In the frosh/novice eight event, the novice eight finished 11th out of 23 with a time of 15:49 for a program-best finish in the novice event.
The Pioneers will be home to conclude the fall season as they host the Heart of the Housatonic on Saturday, Nov. 2.
