Villarreal Named MAAC Libero of the Week Again

The first year has won her eighth weekly honor
EDISON, N.J. – Sacred Heart University women's volleyball standout Miliani Villarreal collected another honor to add her list of accolades this season, as the first year libero was named Jersey Mike's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Libero of the Week.
Today's win marks SHU's 16th weekly awards for the Pioneers this season. Villarreal is up to eight weekly honors, as she is a six-time Libero of the Week and a two-time Rookie of the Week.
Villarreal paced the Pioneers with 42 digs (6.00/set) over the team's 1-1 weekend. She also added 12 assists (1.71/set), which was second on the team. The Murrieta, Calif., native started the weekend with 25 digs and seven assists in a four-set win over Marist on Saturday. Villarreal then tallied 17 digs and five assists in three sets against Siena on Sunday.
The Pioneers continue their homestand on Wednesday with a primetime bout against crosstown rival Fairfield at 7 p.m. at the Pitt.
