DELMAR, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University women's golf team finished the Great Danes Invitational in a tie for eighth place on Sunday afternoon at the Normanside Country Club in Delmar, N.Y.
With a combined score of 623 (308-315), the Pioneers tied former conference foe FDU in eighth at 63 over par. Seton Hall took the team title at +41, edging Boston University by just one stroke.
Maya Robilio and
Jessie Burch led the way for the Pioneers, tying for 17th place at 154 (+14). Burch paced SHU for the weekend with four total birdies, while Robilio had three.
Maite Cantu placed next for the Pios in a tie for 30th. The first year carded a 156 (+16), carding a birdie in each round.
Nahia Paulerena was SHU's biggest mover today, climbing five spots into a tie for 42nd. Paulerena tallied a combined score of 159 (+19), posting a birdie on the par-five ninth hole.
Jensie Nicholas was the final Pio on the leaderboard today in 59th place.
Sacred Heart will play its final tournament of the fall on Monday, Oct. 14, at the Southern, hosted by Georgia Southern.
