STORRS, Conn—The Sacred Heart University dropped its second game of the season on Wednesday evening, 92-56, on the road at #3 University of Connecticut.
Amiri Stewart and
Bryce Johnson scored in double figures to lead the Pioneers.

UConn had a quick start to the day, opening the game with a 7-0 run. Sacred Heart answered with a pair of triples from first-year
Mekhi Conner to pull within one, 7-6.
The Huskies were able to jump ahead by six, 16-6, but a layup and a three-pointer from
Amiri Stewart brought the Pioneers within one, 12-11.
UConn made back-to-back triples to push their lead to seven. Over the next few minutes, the Pioneers cut the deficit to five twice, but the Huskies went on a 6-0 run following a pair of free throws from Stewart to take a 24-15 lead.
UConn hit a three-pointer with 6:35 left in the half to extend their lead to 10, but
Tanner Thomas and
Bryce Johnson brought in the next five points for SHU to cut the deficit to five, 30-25. The Huskies answered and were able to jump ahead 46-31 at the half.
UConn controlled the second half, extending its lead by 20 or more throughout the remainder of the game, which ended in a 92-56 final.

Lucius Gibson-Savadel each made their first appearances with the Pioneers. Ralph-Beyer scored on his first attempt with a three-pointer, securing his first career points. Bryant tallied his first point for SHU with a made free throw. Junior
Griffin Barrouk also brought in his first points as a Pioneer with a triple late in the second half.
