Pioneers Embrace NIL Platform
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart University Athletics is partnering with Opendorse to create an all-in-one name, image and likeness (NIL) platform.
Opendorse, one of the industry leaders in the NIL space, has an online hub and mobile app that provide opportunities for Pioneer varsity student-athletes to connect with clients for promotion activities. The company covers student-athletes and staff with compliance, content and educational tools that will be used in the developing NIL landscape.
"We strive to enhance the student-athlete experience, and the partnership with Opendorse is a significant step in that direction," said Judy Ann Riccio, SHU's Director of Athletics. "We have already seen many of our athletes creating accounts and taking advantage of NIL opportunities through this platform. Our coaches and staff fully support this initiative."
The partnership also ensures student-athlete eligibility by enabling them to disclose NIL deals with the compliance office in the Sacred Heart Athletics Department.
Student-athletes get on-demand access to photos and videos and content suggestions helping them engage with their campus and fans. Sacred Heart has already launched a school-specific NIL marketplace that facilitates fans, brands, donors and sponsors to directly support and maximize NIL success for student-athletes. Each SHU student-athlete can have their own fully customizable Opendorse profile.

More than 130,000 athletes use Opendorse to build and monetize their name, image, and likeness with support from hundreds of colleges and thousands of brands, fans, donors, and partners including Team USA, LEARFIELD, U.S. Bank, Keller Williams, and more. The Opendorse-powered marketplace is built on a decade of athlete marketing technology and experience.
