Women’s Golf in Fourth after 36 Holes at Red Bandanna Invitational

Paulerena paces the Pioneers in T5th

MILTON, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University women's golf team sits in fourth place after the first two rounds of the Red Bandanna Invitational, hosted by Boston College Blue Hills Country Club on Monday in Milton, Mass.

The Pioneers own a combined score of 622 (+46), carding rounds of 310 and 312. Hosting BC leads the event by 31 strokes at 587 (+11). SHU is just four strokes off of the pace second-place Quinnipiac at 618 (+42). 

First year Nahia Paulerena leads the way for the Pioneers in a tie for fifth place. The Anglet, France, native opened the day with a 76 (+4) and 75 (+3) for a combined 151 (+7). Paulerena birdied one hole in the first 18 holes and two in the second 18. 

Maya Robilio continued the strong start to her senior season, sitting in the top 10 after the first day of action. Robilio carded a 154 (+10) today, going 76 (+4) and 78 (+6). She bested Paulerena with four birdies through 36 holes. 

Maite Cantu heads into the third round in a tie for 17th with a combined score of 156 (+12). The Mexico City, Mexico, native tallied an impressive 75 (+3) in the opening round and an 81(+9) in round two. 

Jessie Burch, Jensie Nicholas and Lauren Ogrodowicz rounded out SHU's competitors. Burch carded a 161 (+17) to place in a tie for 37th, while Nicholas and Ogrodowicz finished one stroke apart in T71st and T73rd, respectively. 

Round three of the Red Bandanna Invitational begins tomorrow morning at the Blue Hills Country Club.
