SHU Wins Fifth UCA National Championship

Pios Continue Success in Orlando
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Pios are national champions again!
Today, the Sacred Heart University Cheerleading Team won a UCA National Championship, their fifth title in six years.
SHU took to the mat at Orlando's Disney World Resort, placing first in the All Girl Division 1 Game Day Division. Competing against 22 teams, SHU captured a near-perfect 98 out of 100 points in their performance.
SHU was the 2020 National Champion in Division 1 All Girl before following up with Open All Girl Game Day national titles in 2021, 2022, and 2023. In 2024, SHU came within hundredths of a point of first and second places.
Head Coach CJ Rodriguez has been at the helm for all five championships. Rodriguez reflected on this win, stating, "I am incredibly proud of this team. The feeling of winning a National Championship never gets old, and I'm glad that these girls got the chance to experience it."
