Swim and Dive Trail CCSU After Day One of Two-Day Dual on Senior Day

Lola Barrett secured NCAA Zone qualifying time and school record in the 1M
MILFORD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University swim and dive team trail Central Connecticut State 97-89 after day one of the home-and-home dual meet. Senior Lola Barrett secured a NCAA Zone Qualifying score, school record and pool record in the 1M dive.
Just behind Barrett in the 1M was Sinclair Yadao with a score of 254.10.
Sophia Velleco secured the gold in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.10.
Meghan Hammarlund and Kristen Baker went second and third in the 100 backstroke with times of 1:00.24 and 1:00.35, respectively.
Senior Rosemery Nieto came out strong and maintained her lead for the first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.69. Daniella Palamaro secured third in 1:10.97.
In the 200 butterfly, senior Melanie Sanchez placed second by one tenth of a second with a time of 2:09.67.
The 400-medley relay of Hammarlund, Nieto, Sanchez and Velleco broke the McCann pool record and secured the win with a time of 3:59.47.
