FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's wrestling team closed out its home portion of its schedule Sunday afternoon as the Pioneers defeated D'Youville University and New England College in a tri-match inside the Pitt Center on Senior Day.
 
Prior to the start of the two matches, head coach Paulina Biega and the women's wrestling program honored its five-member senior class – Katie Vogt-Shields, Alexandra Fitzgerald, Temi Sanusi, Jacklyn Smith, and Madison Sandquist – for their hard work and dedication to the team during their four-year tenure.

• The Pioneers recorded a total of seven pins on the afternoon, including two from Nohea Moniz at 117 pounds. 
• Along Moniz, Elleahna Anderson, Tayla Tildsley, Smith, Sandquist, and Fitzgerald tallied a pin.
• SHU had seven wrestlers - Moniz, Fitzgerald, Anderson, Sanusi, Smith, Sandquist, and Hodges record two wins.
