FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's wrestling team made a statement in its 2025-26 home opener Sunday afternoon, rolling to a pair of dominant dual victories against Eastern University (PA) and the University of Bridgeport inside the William H. Pitt Center. The Pioneers powered past the Eagles, 38-8, before slamming the door on the Purple Knights with a 49-0 shutout to cap a perfect afternoon at home.

Of Note (Match 1)

• Sacred Heart jumped out to an early lead as Aaliyah Payne-Parris opened the day with a 4-0 decision at 103 pounds. Momentum continued at 110 and 117, where Tiffany Stoshak and Nohea Moniz each recorded 10-0 technical falls.
• After Eastern earned wins at 124 and 145, the Pioneers responded in decisive fashion. Bella Sowards picked up a forfeit at 131 before Madison Canales delivered the first pin of the afternoon, sticking Paige Jackson with just 36 seconds left on the clock at 138.
• Pins from Love Daley at 160 and Madeline Hodges at 180 sealed the dual, while Josephine Larson closed out the match with a forfeit win at 207.
