How it Happened:
  • The opening frame was tightly contested, with both teams trading chances but neither able to break through. Sacred Heart outshot the Purple Knights 17–11, and goaltender Jillian Petruno stood tall in net, saving every shot she faced. The Pioneers' defensive unit, led by Olivia LaRoche, helped keep the Purple Knights off of the board.
  • Sophomore Ally Cohen broke the deadlock midway through the period with a goal assisted by Shae Carroll. Moments later, Hailey Jussila added a short-handed goal to double the lead, giving Sacred Heart all the momentum heading into the third.
  • The Pioneers dominated from start to finish, finding the back of the net four more times. Sami Bowlby opened the scoring early in the frame, followed by Brianna Morden's goal just two minutes later. Carroll extended the lead with her second point of the day off assists from Cohen and Alyssa Antonakis, while Ella Holm capped the scoring late with an assist from Antonakis.
