Equestrian Earns High Point Team Honors at NYU/Hofstra Show

Hwalek crowned High Point Rider as SHU dominates the leaderboard with 43 points
NORTHPORT, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University equestrian team delivered a statement performance on Saturday afternoon, powering to High Point Team honors at the NYU/Hofstra IHSA Show.
The Pioneers were dominant from start to finish, collecting 43 points to lead the field. SHU edged out Fairfield University and LIU, who finished tied for second with 38 points, with the most first-place ribbons.
Senior Kylie Hwalek set the pace for the Pioneers, turning in flawless rides to claim first place in both Open Fences and Open Flat, earning her High Point Rider recognition.

- In the fences, SHU came out strong with blue ribbons from Ella Sandvig, Isabel Hunt, Olivia Herfert, and Kallie Ramistella. At the same time, Norah Jackson and Virginia Martin added key points with top four finishes.
- The Pioneers kept their momentum rolling on the flat, where Lilliana St. Pierre and Isabella Ruisi each took first in the Limit division, and Addison Azmoun earned second.
- Sophie DiGregorio capped off the day with a win in Novice Flat, and Olivia Dolan added a strong second-place finish to round out another standout team effort.
