SHU earns multiple blue ribbons in strong team performance

GREENVALE, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University equestrian team turned in a strong showing on Sunday afternoon, placing third overall at the IHSA Show hosted by Long Island University. The Pioneers tallied 39 team points, finishing just one point behind Fairfield for second place and six behind LIU, who took the team title.

Of Note:

Leading the way for Sacred Heart were several standout rides across multiple divisions. Ella DiFazio captured first place in Open Fences, while Erin Phillips added a blue ribbon in Open Flat and a third-place finish in Open Fences to cap a strong performance on the day.
In the Intermediate divisions, Isabel Hunt rode to first place in Intermediate Fences, and Ava Hufford notched top-three finishes in both of her classes — second in Intermediate Fences and third in Intermediate Flat.
The Pioneers also impressed in the Limit divisions, sweeping several first-place finishes. Isabella Ruisi earned wins in both Intermediate Flat and Limit Fences, while Harley Jimenez and Gianna Carducci each contributed valuable points, with Jimenez taking first and Carducci fifth in Limit Fences.
Beverly Banerji claimed first in Limit Flat, with teammates Kallie Ramistella and Sofia Greene finishing third and fourth, respectively, to round out a dominant group effort in the class.
In the Novice divisions, Morgan McCrave brought home first place in Novice A, and first-year rider Sophie DiGregorio placed second in Novice B, adding crucial points toward the team's total.
