BOSTON – For the second straight week, senior forward
Felix Trudeau was named the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) Forward of the Week following his second hat trick of the season on Saturday against LIU at the Martire Family Arena.
Trudeau was key to the Pioneers hanging a season-best seven goals on the Sharks, as the Pios won 7-2 in their lone game of the week. The Terrebonne, Quebec, native led the team with three goals, tallying his second hat trick in the last three games. He scored twice in the first period, the first going down as the game-winner. Trudeau then clinched the hat trick with his second power play strike of the night in the third. He led the conference with three goals and two power play goals this week, despite only playing the one game.
After Saturday, Trudeau leads the AHA with 12 goals and 15 points. He has become the only Pioneer to record two hat tricks in a season and is only three goals shy of cracking the top-10 single-season leaderboard through just 11 games. Trudeau is also one of just two players, the other being Penn State's Matt DiMarsico, to have two hat tricks already this season.
The Pioneers next head to Belfast, Northern Ireland, to take part in the Friendship Four, hosted by the Belfast Giants. SHU begins the two-day event on Friday, Nov. 28, against No. 20/RV Union.
