SARASOTA, FL-  The Sacred Heart women's swimming and diving team was well represented at the CSCAA National Open Water Championships in the Sunshine State, led by Sophia Velleco's strong showing. Velleco recorded a gun time of 1:00:33.1, finishing 28th overall in a field of 119 competitors.

Laura DeGennaro followed with a time of 1:03:30.4, placing 73rd overall, while Charlotte Kaduson crossed the line moments later at 1:03:34.7 to finish 75th. Maeve English posted a time of 1:04:52.3, good for 92nd overall.

Daniella Palamaro added a time of 1:05:02.2 to finish 97th, and Izzy Torello rounded out the Pioneers with a time of 1:05:52.0, placing 110th overall.

The Pioneers are back in action at CCSU on January 16th at 5:00 PM.
