FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The first-place Sacred Heart women's hockey team is back at Martire Family Arena for a weekend series. The Pioneers host Saint Michael's on Friday at 7 p.m. and again on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. on Senior Day when Sacred Heart's graduate students and Class of 2025 will be honored. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
NOTES
• The Pioneers enter the weekend with 45 points, two more than second-place LIU. The Sharks host third-place Franklin Pierce this weekend.
• Sacred Heart is coming off a weekend sweep of Assumption, winning 2-1 last Friday at Martire and 2-0 in Worcester on Saturday.
• The Pioneers got strong goaltending in both games.
Lauren Larson made 35 saves in Friday's victory, while
Carly Greene stopped all 36 shots she faced on Saturday.
• Greene has posted shutouts in two of her last three starts.
• Sacred Heart has not allowed more than three goals in a game since falling to UConn 4-2 on Nov. 30.
• The Pioneers are third in the nation with nine shutouts, two behind national leader Quinnipiac.

Isabella Chaput leads the Red & White in goals (11) and points (16) heading into the weekend, having scored her 11th last Friday night.

Kailey Smith and
Olivia LaRoche top the team in assists with seven. LaRoche tallied two in Friday's win over Assumption.

Sami Bowlby, who scored the game-winning goal on Saturday vs. Assumption, was named to the NEWHA Honor Roll on Tuesday. She was joined by LaRoche, Greene and first year
Ella Holm.
• Sacred Heart has dominated the all-time series with Saint Michael's, holding a 38-4-0 record, highlighted by a 26-0-2 record in the last 28 games.
• The Pioneers swept the first series from the Purple Knights back in November in Vermont, winning 6-0 and 4-1.
ABOUT SAINT MICHAEL'S
• The Purple Knights (3-25-0, 3-19-0 NEWHA) come into the weekend eighth in the NEWHA.
• Alizee LeBlanc leads the team in points (7) and assists (5). The duo of Angelina Ruiz and Anna Jerlyo lead the team in goals with two each.
• In goal, Annika Lavender has received the bulk of action, recording a .908 SV% and 4.21 GAA.
• Meghan Sweezey, in her first season as head coach, leads the Purple Knights.
