Rugby Places Four on All-NIRA Teams

Alyssa Cunningham honored for fourth straight year
FAIRFIELD, Conn.—The National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) has announced its All-NIRA selections. The Sacred Heart University women's rugby had four athletes honored. Alyssa Cunningham and Reece Woods were named to the first team. Ashley Torres-Brown was selected to the second team and Olivia Woods earned a spot on the honorable mention team.
Cunningham earns a spot on the first team for the third straight season after leading the team with nine tries. She had 18 conversions and nine penalty goals for a total of 108 points. The senior captain also had 26 tackles, 185 passes, 53 carries, and 567 meters made. After earning an a spot on the honorable mention team her first year, Cunningham has collected All-NIRA honors all four years of her career.
Reece Woods brings in her first All-NIRA honor after tallying six tries, 50 tackles, 81 carries, and 388 meters made.
Torres-Brown earns her second All-NIRA second team honor after collecting a pair of tries, 51 tackles, 55 carries, and 508 meters made.
Olivia Woods has her first All-NIRA honor with an honorable mention selection. She had one try, 38 tackles, 95 carries, and 551 meters made.
