Women’s Golf Opens JEL Intercollegiate in Third

All six Pioneers rank in the top 25

GRASONVILLE, Md. – The Sacred Heart University women's golf team sits in third after the first 36 holes at the JEL Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay, hosted this weekend at the Prospect Bay Golf Club in Grasonville, Md.

The Pioneers own a combined score of 638 (324-314) following the tournament's first two rounds, which is 62 strokes over par. Former conference foe LIU leads the event at 623 (+47), while Bucknell is second at 631 (+55). 

Jessie Burch paces the Pioneers at the event with a 13-over score of 157 (81-76) to sit in fourth. Her five-over second round was the fourth-best score in the round. Burch carded one birdie in both rounds. 

Maya Robilio is next on the team in T5th. The senior went 79 and 79 for a 14-over 158. Robilio tallied two birdies in the opening 18 holes and one in the second 18. 

Nahia Paulerena sits next on the leaderboard for the Pioneers in a tie for 15th. The first year opened the day with an 80 (+8) and 82 (+10) for an 18-over 162. 

Maite Cantu, Jensie Nicholas and Lauren Ogrodowicz rounded out the Pios' entrants in 23rd, T25th and T25th, respectively. Cantu sits at 166 (+22), while Nicholas and Ogrodowicz are at 169 (+25). 

The final round of the JEL Intercollegiate kicks off tomorrow morning.
