ORANGE PARK, Fla. – The Sacred Heart University women's basketball team placed four golfers in the top 10 and sits in second place after the first round of the SHU Spring Break Invitational at the Eagle Harbor Golf Club in Orange Park, Fla.
The Pioneers own a team score of 317 (+29), three strokes off leading Siena at 314 (+26). Ashland (+32), Fairfield (+40) and Holy Cross (+45) round out the competitors.
Jessie Burch is tied for first at the event with a first-round 77 (+5). She carded three birdies in the first 18 holes.
Maya Robilio and
Lauren Ogrodowicz are second on SHU in a tie for seventh at 79 (+7). Robilio tied Burch with three birdies, while Ogrodowicz had one.
Maite Cantu,
Jensie Nicholas and
Nahia Paulerena were next three Pioneers on the leaderboard. Cantu is tied for 10th at 80 (+8), Nicholas is tied for 12th at 81 (+9) and Paulerena is tied for 18th at 83 (+11).
Ashley Moynahan and
Emma Preissing rounded out Sacred Heart's competitors in 31st and 33rd.
The second round of the SHU Spring Break Invitational will take place tomorrow.
