ORANGE PARK, Fla. – The Sacred Heart University women's golf team remained in second at the conclusion of the SHU Spring Break Invite on Thursday, hosted by the Pioneers at the Eagle Harbor Golf Club in Orange Park, Fla.
The Pioneers finished with a combined score of 642 (+66) to take the silver, trailing Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) foe Siena by six strokes. SHU carded rounds of 317 and 325 at the 36-hole event.
Jessie Burch and
Maya Robilio led the way for the Pios at the event with scores of 158 (+14) and 160 (+16), respectively. Burch placed third overall at the event, while Robilio was fourth.
Jensie Nicholas was next on the leaderboard for the Pios, tying for sixth. Nicholas carded back-to-back rounds of 81 to finish with a 162 (+18).
Nahia Paulerena,
Lauren Ogrodowicz and
Maite Cantu all finished in the top 30 in T13th, 23rd and 26th, respectively. Paulerena led the group with a final score of 165 (+21), while Ogrodowicz finished with a 173 (+29) and Cantu went 175 (+31).
Ashley Moynahan and
Emma Preissing rounded out the Pioneers' golfers in T31st and 33rd.
The Pios return to action on Saturday, Mar. 29, for the opening day of the JEL Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay, hosted at the Prospect Bay Golf Club in Grasonville, Md.
