
Four Pioneers Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Baker, Chambers, Haas and Sanchez received recognition
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Kristen Baker, Emma Chambers, Emma Haas and Melanie Sanchez were recognized on Tuesday by College Sports Communicators (CSC) for their academic and athletic performance being named to the 2024-25 Women's Swimming & Diving Academic All-District Team.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. To qualify for this honor, student-athletes had to meet certain academic and competition minimums.
Baker, a sophomore from Barrington, R.I., worked her way into the Sacred Heart record books this season. Baker was a member of the 200-medley relay team that broke the school record at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship, swimming backstroke. Baker has a cumulative GPA of 3.83 and is obtaining her bachelor's degree in actuarial science.
Chambers, a senior from Woolwich Township, N.J., mainly competed in the butterfly and IM events this season. At the MAAC Championships, Chambers placed 10th in the 200 IM. In the classroom, Chambers maintains a 3.69 GPA while obtaining her bachelor's degree in public health.
Haas, a sophomore from West Sayville, N.Y., qualified and the CSCAA National Invitational Championship in the 50 butterfly. She has been a consistent a scorer for the Pioneers throughout the season. Haas maintains a 3.97 GPA while getting her degree in psychology.
Sanchez, a senior captain from Bronx, N.Y., broke the school record in the 100 butterfly at the MAAC Championships and placed seventh. Sanchez is pursuing a degree in healthcare administration with a cumulative GPA of 3.53.
