Rowing Sweeps MAAC Weekly Awards

SHU's three boats have earned MAAC Boat of the Week honors
EDISON, N.J. – The Sacred Heart women's rowing team has swept the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) weekly awards. The Pioneers 1V8, 2V8, and 1V4, have all been named the MAAC Boat of the Week in their respective categories.
The 1V8 of Mia Bottone (coxswain), Selena Hescock, Doria Lukasik-Drescher, Olivia Chasse, Ava Manzo, Kadence Faucher, Samantha Keith, Susan Munley, and Jane Kurkowski clocked a time of 6:51.0 for a first-place finish, defeating Drake and Canisius on Saturday.
Sacred Heart's 1V4 of Ava Del Greco (coxswain), Trinity Savage, Olivia Caione, Caitlyn Bergman, and Sofia Fisher finished in 7:35.2 for a first-place spot against Canisius and Drake.
The Pioneers 2V8 of Sydney Kaiser (coxswain), Emily Jenkins, Gabrielle Gottschall, Lily Holt, Elizabeth Russell, Meredith Sommers, Rose Kelly, Yelanni Diaz, and Olivia Nguyen finished in first place at 6:50.6, defeating Drake and Canisius on Saturday.
Sacred Heart is back in action this Sunday, May 4 as they take on Fairfield at home at Beacon Point Marine.
