Pioneers Claim Two MAAC Boat of the Week Awards

SHU takes two of the three boat of the week honors
EDISON, N.J. – The Sacred Heart women's rowing team has earned two of the three Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) weekly awards. The Pioneers 2V8 and 1V4 have been named the MAAC Boat of the Week in their respective categories.
The 1V4 took a dominating victory over Fairfield, finishing at 8:15.2, 26 seconds ahead of the Stags.
In the 2V8 race with four boats competing, the Pioneers 2V8 finished first overall at 7:17.9. Fairfield was next at 7:26.0, Vassar took third at 7:39.6, and the SHU 3V wrapped up the event with a 7:43.5 time.
Sacred Heart is back in action on Sunday, May 18, for the MAAC Championships on the Cooper River.
