CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Sacred Heart University women's golf team had three golfers named 2024-25 Scholar All-Americans by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).
This is honor has some of the most stringent qualifications in all of college athletics, as the student-athletes must have owned an overall cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, were amateurs and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and played 50% of the team's rounds throughout the year. This year, 1,499 women's collegiate golfers from 403 programs were recognized with this distinguished honor.
SHU was represented by
Jessie Burch,
Jensie Nicholas and
Nahia Paulerena. Burch has just completed a stellar junior season, during which she earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors. Burch was the lone repeat Pioneer on the list. Nicholas, a senior from Trumbull, Conn., and Paulerena, a first year from France, made the list for the first time in their careers.
