Vene and Harold led the way for the Pioneers

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University men's cross-country team claimed a win at the Brown Bear Invitational on Saturday, topping the nine-team field at Highland Park in Attleboro, Mass.

Senior Matthew Vene and first year Jake Harold led the way for the Pioneers. Vene finished seventh overall, and Harold finished eighth, giving the Pioneers two top-10 showings.

Demetri Franzese and Aidan Cichocki weren't far behind, as Franzese placed 11^th and Cichocki finished 15^th.

Harjaap Singh, Michael Maresca, and Jesse Croteau all rounded out the scoring, sealing the team's first win of the season.

Matthew Vene and Jake Harold gave the Pioneers their best finishes of the season thus far
SHU tallied its first win as a team since the Ted Owen Invitational in 2017
