Fairfield, Conn – Following a series sweep against Saint Anselm, two pioneers were awarded with New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) weekly awards.
Bria Holm took home Player of the Week, and
Jillian Petruno took home Goaltender of the Week.
Holm had a career weekend against the Hawks. In Friday night's 5–2 victory, Holm recorded the first multi-goal game of her collegiate career, and it was a hat trick. She wasn't done there. On Saturday, Holm added two more assists in the Pioneers' 3–1 victory. Overall, she totaled five points on the weekend, earning her second weekly award of the season.
On the other end of the ice, Petruno shined just as bright. Across two games, she allowed three goals while making 66 saves, posting a .957 save percentage for the weekend. Her season save percentage now sits at .943, ranking seventh in the nation. This marks Petruno's fourth conference honor of the season.
