How It Happened:
The Pioneers struck first this evening when first-year defenseman Noah Roberts scored his first collegiate goal at 5:53 to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. The Boca Raton, Fla., native sniped the top-right corner after Cole Galata wrestled the puck away from a Crusader in SHU's end.

Holy Cross evened the score with 3:10 left in the first. Matthew Kursonis snuck a wrister five-hole after a clearance attempt was thwarted when the puck hit an official's skate.

The Crusaders struck again 2:15 into the second period to build a 2-1 lead, capitalizing on a 3-on-2 breakaway. The early goal was the period's only one, as SHU headed to the third needing a score.

Holy Cross tallied another 5:35 into the third period to take a 3-1 lead, but a successful challenge for offsides kept the margin at one goal.
