RICHMOND, Va. – Sacred Heart football outside linebacker Myles Hamilton has been named the CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week following his standout performance in the Pioneers' 24-16 road victory at Maine on Saturday.

Hamilton was a force from start to finish, leading the Pioneers with seven tackles while recording a career-best two sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss for eight yards. The junior outside linebacker consistently disrupted the Black Bears' offense as Sacred Heart's defense held Maine to 259 total yards, 13 first downs and just 105 rushing yards.

Hamilton and the Pioneer defense came up big in the second half, holding Maine scoreless in the third quarter as Sacred Heart erased a 9-0 deficit and rallied for its second CAA victory of the season.

The Pioneers return to action Saturday, October 10, hosting Stonehill College in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is set for noon at Sikorsky Credit Union Field.
