Both athletes continue to impress
Fairfield, Conn. -- The Sacred Heart University women's track and field team collected two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) weekly awards after competing in the Harvard Invitational. First year, Alivia Schweibinz took home Rookie of the Week. Graduate student Jenna Engels took home the Field Performer of the Week.
Schweibinz turned in an impressive weekend performance, finishing second overall in the 3,000m out of 56 competitors. She crossed the line in 10:03.62, just seven seconds behind the event winner, while also setting a new personal best time.
Jenna Engels continued to impress this season, and that trend remained this past weekend at Harvard. She finished third overall out of 15 competitors, recording a mark of 3.80m, her second-best performance of the season.
Up Next:
The Pioneers return to action next weekend, competing at the 49th ECAC and 104th IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, February 7, and Sunday, February 8.
