
De Magistris Signs Pro Contract with CFL’s Toronto Argonauts

Former SHU captain earns CFL opportunity after standout collegiate career
TORONTO, Canada – Former Sacred Heart football team captain and offensive lineman Cole De Magistris signed a professional contract earlier this month with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.
During his two seasons at Sacred Heart, De Magistris appeared in and started 23 games for the Pioneers, helping lead the program to back-to-back Yankee Conference Cup championships. In 2025, he played a key role in protecting quarterback Jack Snyder, who ranked fifth in the FCS with a 71.2 completion percentage. De Magistris also anchored an offensive line that powered Sacred Heart's rushing attack to a sixth-place national ranking in the FCS, averaging 217.0 yards per game.
A native of Emerson, N.J., De Magistris transferred to Sacred Heart after a four-year career at Bates College. He graduated in 2024 as a Senior Scholar Award recipient, recognizing four years of varsity participation while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. He was also a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy and earned recognition on the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society.
