Rothberg leads SHU in T12th
GLEN HEAD, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University men's golf team is in 11th place after the first two rounds of the Shark Invitational, hosted by LIU at the Nassau Country Club in Glen Head, N.Y.
The Pioneers carded rounds of 295 and 296 for a combined score of 591 (+31). SHU is two strokes behind 10-place Siena (+29). Bryant leads the field at +7, just ahead of second-place Weber State (+9).
Mike Rothberg paces SHU in T12th after a strong start to the day. The senior opened with an even-par 70 before carding a 72 (+2) for a combined score of 142 (+2). He carded two birdies in both rounds today.
Pablo Lacayo is second on the Pioneers in T46th, sitting with a score of 149 (+9). He bounced back from an opening 76 with a 73 in round two.
Jon Bushka, Yu Chan Ji Lim and Ronan Mooney all finished within one stroke of each other. Bushka is tied for 55th at 151 (+11), Lim is tied for 61st at 152 (+12), and Mooney is tied for 67 at 153 (+13).
SHU concludes the Shark Invitational tomorrow morning.
