
Football Closes Out Spring Ball, Names 2026 Captains

Logan Lyson, Kenny Selby, Jack Snyder, Tim Suk, and Curtis Whiting to Lead Pioneers
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Following the conclusion of spring practices, Sacred Heart University football head coach Mark Nofri has announced the team captains for the upcoming 2026 season. Logan Lyson, Kenny Selby, Jack Snyder, Tim Suk, and Curtis Whiting have been selected for their leadership, consistency, and commitment to the program.
"This group of captains represents everything we want Sacred Heart football to be about—tough, accountable, and committed to each other," said head coach Mark Nofri. "They've earned the respect of this team through their work ethic and consistency, and I'm confident they'll lead us the right way both on and off the field."
Selby and Whiting return to the role after serving as captains during the 2025 campaign, bringing valuable experience and continuity to the group.
Lyson appeared in 10 games at tight end, recording seven receptions for 80 yards. His longest catch of the season went for 29 yards in a victory over Merrimack, showcasing his versatility in the passing game.
Selby helped anchor the Pioneers' backfield last season, totaling 36 tackles, including 25 solo stops. He recorded two or more tackles in eight contests and led the team with 10 pass breakups, highlighted by a season-best three at Norfolk State.
Snyder led the Pioneers' offense with an efficient and dynamic season at quarterback. He completed 166-of-233 passes (71.2%) for 1,867 yards with just three interceptions and 11 touchdowns, including multi-touchdown performances against Delaware State, CCSU, and Montana. He recorded four games with 200+ passing yards, highlighted by a season-high 298-yard performance against Delaware State. Snyder was also a major factor in the ground game, rushing for 553 yards and seven touchdowns, including two-score efforts against Norfolk State and Merrimack. He added a 100-yard rushing performance in the win over Merrimack to secure the Yankee Conference Championship.
Suk appeared in all 11 games for the Pioneers and helped protect Snyder, who ranked fifth in the FCS with a 71.2 completion percentage. The grad student also anchored an offensive line that powered Sacred Heart's rushing attack to a sixth-place national ranking in the FCS, averaging 217.0 yards per game.
Whiting contributed offensively in 2025, rushing for 111 yards on 34 carries and scoring two touchdowns. He also added two receptions for 16 yards at Lehigh and recorded a nine-yard kick return at Villanova.
The Pioneers kick off the 2026 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 5, with their first CAA match-up against Monmouth in West Long Beach, N.J.
